Super tasty food and well prepared. Also it has some pretty great views.

This is a great place to eat. Off the beat on path with an amazing location. The staff is awesome and the food was very good.

Lovely place.I went there many times, for brunch, lunch and dinner.I love everything about it, decor, food, service and the great view, specially is a sunny day, you can enjoy the sunset. Just amazing.

I am sad to know that this great fine dining restaurant is closing.

3 course set menu was great value. Seafood chowder was good, halibut was well prepared and fresh, creme brulee was smooth but a bit too sweet.

It's a good restaurant with a great view, but suffers the same problems as a lot of restaurants with a great view: the food isn't phenomenal, you're paying for the view. It's not bad, but could use with a major update, something more new and modern rather than the somewhat '90s menu they currently have. But the view is amazing, both day and night, and the wine and cocktail list is great!

This place has quietly closed as of last weekend. This place as the only restaurant situated in this beautiful park within the Burnaby mountain has shared many memories for those who celebrated their weddings, birthdays and anniversary. Hopefully whoever take over can transform it into another great venue.

Great place. A little on the expensive side but you pay for the view, hence "Horizons". Best calamari I have ever tasted. Great food in my opinion. Servers were very attentive and great. Dessert menu can have more options, like a cheesecake or something.

It was a Sunday night , not a busy night . We had a friendly server. It was my first time in that restaurant and I loved the view of the city lights.

I've been here before, and it's been very well staffed...this evening though, as Dine Out Vancouver comes to it's last week they didn't quite seem prepared.I had the duck breast, and was less than enthused. It was dry m, overcooked, and rubbery. My partner had the Steel Steak, and thoroughly enjoyed that, and we finished with the vanilla creme Braille, which was to die for.

Food was not tasty. The meat had no season. The pasta I ordered for my child was just the plain pasta throw on some "cream" in a plate. Apparently Alfredo is a cream and has no cheese in it. For the high price we paid, it was a disappointment.

Nice place with an awesome view of Vancouver and Burrard Inlet. The food was just good but a little on the pricier side for what you were getting. I liked the chicken burger, the calamari was a good too. As a restaurant I would rate it a 3 but the extra star is for the location/views.

Feel like a tourist in my own city! Tasty food, excellent service and great ambiance. Just soaking in the view and relaxing as if I was away on holidays....without leaving home.

My wife and I received a gift card for Horizons for Christmas and then just heard that they're closing for good in a couple of weeks, so we went for brunch today. It wasn't terribly busy when we got in, so we figured we'd get pretty decent service. We were wrong. We waited for 10 minutes to have our order taken. Even people who were seated after we were had their orders taken before us. After our order was finally taken, the food arrived quickly and was not only delicious, but quite a generous portion, although for $18 a plate, you'd expect to get something substantial. The person coming to refill our water was the most attentive to us. No one else came to our table for almost 20 minutes. After we finished our meal, we waited almost 20 minutes to grt our bill and then another 10 minutes to have our gift card processed. Honestly, if you don't mind meh service with food priced a bit high, then go enjoy one last meal at Horizons before the shut down forever.

As an expensive restaurant, I’ll say the view was pretty but service was not even brushing the high class standards that you think would accompany the price of the dishes. For $36 I would expect steak to be cooked as I liked, not replied to by my server with “the chef only cooks medium well.” The salmon I ended up ordering was good but those in my party who got steak all said it was over cooked and dry. There were a few of us who had main cutlery taken away during the appetizer even though they were unused and then new cutlery never brought back.

Totally worth going for the view alone!! Restaurant but has limited menu choices and is pricey. Nice for a special night out but may be worth packing a picnic and checking out the park beside it because the view really is spectacular!!Included is pics of the roast lamb $45 (super tasty), the curry dish $20 (comes with whole peppers you can add in for super spicy or push aside) and the salmon that I heard was good $36 ish. Prices are from memory so not exact but gives you an ideaDid I mention the view!!! Nothing short of breathtaking.

The place is on a very amazing spot you can see the whole city and ocean, food is very good and the staff are nice and friendly. Just a little bit pricey!

It locates at the top of Burnaby Mountain with breathtaking scenery and a rose garden. The service is good and attentive, the food is OK but the price for the quality of food is high. We don't even want to eat dessert as it is $10 for a piece of cake!

Food was absolutely disappointing. Service was good.. Too bad the food couldn't match up to service....

The view was pretty, service was average. The food was not great. The bread they brought before our meal was cold and tasted exactly like the bread you get on an airplane. My dinner we pretty mediocre, very salty and the taste wasn't anything special.

Went here for my girlfriend's work Xmas party and we enjoyed our meal. Service was good for the large amount of people in the restaurant. Servers were precise and food was good. Thanks for the great meal!

Top of Burnaby mountain with limited view because of the trees but the food made up for it. It is on the expensive side but the portion is very generous. Staff gave us windows corner seat because we had a baby. Very friendly and professional. Decoration is quite dated. Lots of parking.

My wife and I are really disappointed that the City of Burnaby and Horizons Restaurant on Burnaby Mountain could not come to an agreement for Horizons Restaurant to continue to operate their business after February, 2020.Our family and friends really enjoy their high quality service and catering along with the wonderful views and have done so for over a decade. We have many fond memories of Horizons Restaurant and hope the City of Burnaby will make an even greater effort to come to a new lease with them. We really are going to miss this 34 year old landmark if this lease agreement is not renewed.

It is a shame this iconic restaurant has been forced to close its doors. We will live to see what was the real reason they could not renew their lease with City of Burnaby. Who needed to get their hands on it?...

Beautiful place. Awesome view. The menu is limited but so far I have been there three times and have not been disappointed with my food ordered. A little pricy. Good for special occasions.

Nice restaurant with a view at burnaby mountain on the way to SFU. With most restaurants with a view, the price of the view is built into their menu pricing. So for the best experience, make a reservation and ask for a table by the window! I found the lamb chop appetizer quite tasty but the steaks my partner and I ordered (rib eye and NY striploin) were subpar. Service was quite good, water was constantly topped up.

Really nice location. Came here to celebrate my birthday and everyone was so attentive. Our waiter was very patient as it was our first time dining in this restaurant. Menu choice was a bit limited, but they tasted good! I ordered the new york steak while my friend ordered the duck breast. Portion was huge, the duck breast seems a little bit overcooked tho. I heard that the restaurant is closing soon. I wished I had found the place earlier, we've mentioned something about coming back in the future, it's sad it probably won't happen.

Picturesque location high on Burnaby Mountain with sweeping views of Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver. The service was good. Unfortunately, the brunch menu is limited. The portions on the breakfast dishes were plentiful but, the quality was not that high as compared to the prices.

Valentine's dinner, main course came about half hour after we ordered which was, in my opinion, a little longer than it should have. I ordered Chicago medium rare... one side of the steak was cooked perfect one quarter was cooked to medium. Mentioned it to server and he did offer another but I was ok with it as it was still delicious. After all 4 of us finished our main course and busers had cleared plates it was 15 min till server came and offered dessert menu. Again longer than I expected. Granted they were fairly busy but still... All in all good food good atmosphere sad to see they're closing soon.

Brought my parents here on a snowy evening for the dine out menu. Place was warm but very dark so you cannot see the food. Also bad for photography. Steak was such a small piece that we had to ask for more meal bread. But after the second refill they stopped serving us bread. Dessert was great though.

You're definitely here for the views. Food is good, but nothing you can't find elsewhere. Cost is on the high side. This is a place I'd go to again for special occasions.

The foods are fresh, West coast style. The portion is just right, and very delicious. Not only the foods, the interior ambiance, the views are spectacular too. Wishes that it wouldn't close it door @ the end of Feb/2020.

The best Calamari in town! Beautiful view and hangout even if you're not going to dine at Horizons. Beware if you are going for dinner in heels theres a bit of an uphill walk from the parking lot or get dropped off at the front. But if you want to enjoy the view you'll want some walking shoes or even wedge heels.

Service 5 star for sure! Was here for the birthday dinner on dine out. Was a wonderful night. I ordered salmon. The cook was perfect, but i could still taste the ocean-y smell. Still had an amazing night. Loved the cream brule!!!!

Came for DineOut 2019. Seafood chowder and panko fried prawns were pretty good. Entree portions were generous, but both our salmon and duck breast were a tad overdone and under-seasoned – a bit surprising considering that we came very early evening and the place was not busy at all. Creme brule and s'mores cheesecake were both good but a bit too sweet for our tastes.Overall, quite happy, but the food did not live up to our expectations, the price range, nor the class that the restaurant portrays itself to be. 3.5⭐

Had a really good meal here for dine out Vancouver. Granted I’m sure the menu isn’t their standard one at this time but the food tasted great. Service was really fast as they wanted to turn the tables over for the next group. The views are great from here. The duck and steak we had were well prepared

One of the best restaurant views in the city, a popular place to take a date, too bad I think this place is closing, not from being a mediocre restaurant (this is a very good restaurant) but I believe from a lease issue?
